Art - Ms. Emily Henry

Entering the world of Art this year with students from Pre-Kindergarten all the way through 8th grade is exciting! I have a passion for all art mediums including painting, sculpture, pottery and other three dimensional hybrid art forms. This year the students will create quarter long projects in art which will sometimes culminate in a class art piece and others an individual piece to take home. I believe anyone can create art and am looking forward to working with all of your artists this year!
Choir - Isabelle Areola

I am a pianist and music teacher living in Pensacola, Florida and recently completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance at the University of West Florida. I also have a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance at the Catholic University of America. This is my first year teaching at Little Flower Catholic School where I am excited to emphasizes the connection of the physical body and interior prayer through singing. I believe that ALL MAY SING, not just a talented few, because music belongs to all of God's children.
Band/Color Guard- Ms. Mary Lambeth

I am so thrilled to be entering yet another year as the band director for Little Flower Catholic School! We have three different programs to join:

1. Beginning Band: This band is for fifth grade students who would like to try an instrument. They perform in May if they would like, but are not required as this is a year to see if band is of interest to them.

2. Varsity Band: This band is for students in 6th-8th grades, even if they're a beginner. Those who are new to band are offered additional instruction on Saturdays to help them gain confidence in their instrument. We perform at CYSL football games, one game at Catholic High School, three different parades (when it doesn't rain us out), and at school for Mardi Gras and other events. Performing is optional but highly recommended because it's what the hard work is all about! We also have a leadership team comprised of two drum majors, and a band and drum captain.

3. Color Guard: Our Color Guard cheers at football games and performs in parades and concerts. All students in 5th-8th grade are invited to participate. Students can be in both band and color guard. The colorguard practices on Saturdays from 9:00-11:30. Optional makeup lessons are offered on a case by case basis to help people stay current.

Participating in band has been scientifically shown to improve academic ability due to the process of learning an instrument. I have heard this is true, all I know is that we have a lot of fun performing!
