Pre-K and kindergarten provides children with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and study skills that they will use throughout the year. Everything is taught in various different teaching methods using play, singing, and practical activities.
Math - students will be able to recognize and name shapes, sort objects, create patterns, and describe concept of time.
Reading - students will understand print, recognize uppercase and lowercase letters, recognize sight words, and the basic elements of story like title, author, and main ideas.
Phonics - students will be able to recognize ending sounds, blend words into words, and recognize rhyming words.
Writing - students will form letters correctly and use left to right direction in writing.
Religion - students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of God through word and action, respond to Bible stories, and participate in prayer
By the end of the year, students will be able to follow directions and work independently. They will be able to hold a crayon and pencil correctly, as well as be able to use scissors safely and cut along a straight line. The children should be able to speak clearly, while making eye contact, as well as speak in complete sentences and ask appropriate questions.
